HEADLINE PRIVACY & IT SECURITY COMPLIANCE NEWS

According to a recent report, cybercriminals are now using the dark web to recruit talent for a range of activities. The report reveals that cybercriminals are increasingly using recruitment advertisements to target skilled individuals with experience in hacking, malware development, and social engineering. Some of the job postings offer high salaries, benefits packages, and flexible working hours–which suggests that cybercriminals are adopting a more corporate approach to recruitment. The report also highlights that the recruitment of skilled talent is critical for the growth of cybercrime groups and that this trend is likely to continue in the future.

A group of hackers breached News Corp, the media conglomerate owned by Rupert Murdoch, for over two years, potentially stealing corporate secrets and compromising sensitive information. The hacking group, known as Fxmsp, is believed to have used sophisticated tactics to infiltrate News Corp's systems, including exploiting a zero-day vulnerability in a remote desktop protocol. The hackers reportedly demanded $1 million in ransom from News Corp, but it is unclear whether the company paid the ransom or not. The breach highlights the ongoing threat of cyber attacks against large organizations and the need for robust security measures to protect against such threats.
